Wickham Morris have 3 main aims - to enjoy ourselves, keep the old English tradition of Morris dancing going and to raise money for charity. At the various pubs and other venues where we dance we pass the hat around and in recent years we have collected well over £1000 each year.

In addition, we regularly support various local Cubs, Scouts, Guides, schools by putting on displays or teaching children. In fact it is one of the features of Wickham, that if any children come and watch us and want to give it a try then we get them up dancing - and a child in our definition is anyone aged between 7 and 97, though we might extend this if a special case is made!

In the 2012 season, we will be collecting for The National Autisic Society.The National Autistic Society is the UK's leading charity for people with autism and their families. Founded in 1962, it continues to spearhead national and international initiatives and provide a strong voice for all people with autism. We provide a wide range of services to help people with Autism and Asperger syndrome live their lives with as much independence as possible.
